编者按：美版知乎Quora（方便理解，其实Quora创办在先）将其2010-2012年度100多个精彩问答集结成册：《Best of Quora 2010-2012》。这份400多页的问答集锦涵盖了科技文化、生活教育、职业经历等18个领域，甚至还有4篇奇葩的关于监狱生活的问答，应对各类问题一应专业详实的回答绝对让你瞬间脑洞大开。

Geek属性
2009年，两位前Facebook员工Charlie Cheever和Adam D’Angelo（时任Facebook首席技术官）以邀请制起步创办Quora，吸引了众多硅谷精英和名人，包括他们的前老板Mark Zuckerberg，随后逐步向公众开放，因其始终高质量的问答而备受推崇。
或许硅谷基因实在霸道，早就已经开放注册的Quora还是时不时透露出自己的geek气质。比如问题里就有诸如：
“如果我想看上去很聪明，关于希格斯波色子发现我该知道些什么？”
（谁能告诉我希格斯波色子发现是神马？！）
“根据现在的科技和适当的训练，有没有人可以成为蝙蝠侠？”
“学会非常高深的数学是什么感觉？”
……
这些问题让人马上脑补出：一个个谢耳朵坐在屏幕后面认真而诚恳地敲上一堆完美准确到看不懂的回答。就连“为什么巧克力片冰激凌的巧克力片通常都是‘巧克力口味的脆片’”如此让人想要恶搞的题目都能引来一位food scientist来详尽的一一道来O(╯□╰)O
但也正是因为如此的专业，才让人们不论是想要了解大到“在过去100年间，我们对于宇宙的认识有什么改变？”，小到只是生活中“超市是如何处理过期食品的？”、“我该如何说服我的女朋友（可能未来的妻子），订婚钻戒是浪费钱？”，都会有人尽心地给予高质量的解答或是为你想出好点子O(∩_∩)O
因此，即使有不接地气、难以商业化等质疑，在质量专业度方面大家对Quora是一致点赞的。
神秘的东方
印象最深刻的是一位1988年出生土生土长的伊拉克人Wael Al-Sallami，回答的关于“现在的伊拉克是不是比萨达姆统治时期更安全了”的问题。
他在长达1000多字的回复中控诉了美国政府两次海湾战争直接杀害无数无辜市民，以及美对伊拉克的制裁使得当地人民间接生活在死亡边缘。回答中他说，90年代由于制裁导致的大萧条，他们一家五口人每月收入只有5.5美金，而这也是普通底层政府官员的平均工资水平。
当事情出现稍微好转的时候，2003年美国又打着“拯救伊拉克人民”的旗号卷土而来，从而使他们的生活从安全但极度平穷，变成了富足但极度危险：“People had one Saddam to be afraid of, now they have hundreds! They used to live safely by keeping their mouth shut, now they can't even if they do.”
他说现在他们一家的生活已经相对好一些了，尤其是经济上，父母一个月有3750美金的工资。但是他的弟弟经历过一次汽车爆炸(car bombing)而他自己经历过四次。幸运的是，他们都还活着，而这也仅仅因为他们生活在巴比伦，一个相对安全的城市。
国际篇中也有关于中国、印度、朝鲜的问题。遥远的东方还是美国人民没有完全explore的领域。从关于中国的问题：“现在的中国人认为Mao Zedong是魔鬼还是英雄？”、“在中国，是不是真的可以雇佣其他人来替你服刑？”（书中的回答是yes），或许可以看出美国人民认知中的中国是什么样的。
当然，被选为最佳的答案不一定是最正确的，甚至可能是主观的、偏激的。如果有兴趣，你可以通过每个回答最后的网址链接，找回最初的这道题，去看看更多的其他人是如何回答的，或许有助于你更全面地去了解这一个问题。
在回答中经历形形色色的生活
Quora用户似乎对于各种不同的生活经历充满了好奇心。绝大多数问题都是“what is it like to be/ what does it feel like to be …?”的句型，而这个省略号可以是表示职业的名词：如，狙击手、毒贩、航母指挥官、奥运选手、创业CEO；或者是一种经历：如，杀人、被绑架、染上毒瘾、生在亿万富翁的家庭、“911”发生时呆在世贸大厦里等等。
高质量的回答，即是由真正从事这些职业或亲身经历过的人给予的。那些我们想象中酷炫刺激的职业实际上却是枯燥亟需忍耐与安静的，患有艾斯伯格症的Alex向你讲述他因缺乏社交感知力下的生活，希尔曼家族的人告诉你他富豪家族的真实生活是什么样的……由此，形形色色的生活、我们从来没有机会经历的场景可以栩栩如生地展现在我们眼前。这些回答或许个人片面，或许颠覆认知，但却是真实而诚恳的分享。
另外还有前面提到过的“监狱生活篇”，4篇最佳答案出自4位囚犯之手，碰巧（或者并不偶然）的是4个人都是来自加州San Quentin监狱 (注：号称世上最贵的监狱)，似乎正合了其中一个问题想要寻求的答案：“在San Quentin的囚犯是否有电脑可以上网？”
