调查：美国名校招生官更偏爱哪种类型的文书？丨美国留学

在申请时，文书也是非常重要的一个环节，而各个顶尖学校的文书题目都会有所差异，同时对于不同种类的文书也有特别的偏好。了解这些内容，将帮助童靴们更有针对性的准备梦校对口的文书，增加录取率。文末附有美国常青藤大学的文书题目汇总，童靴们可供参考。

近日一家叫做AdmitSee的教育创业公司，用“大”数据的方法，来分析到底什么类型的文章更会被诸如哈佛、斯坦福这种大众情人校录取。这些数据的来源绝大多数还是近两年录取的学生，然后，他们基于“大”数据的分析方法，分析了这些文书，便得出了几个词能提高哈佛斯坦福录取率的震惊四座的结果。

★ 你如何叫你的爸妈？

据说，如果你用father和mother的话，就更容易被Harvard录取，相对的，如果你用dad和mom的话，就会更容易被Stanford录取。仔细想想其实还是挺有道理的，因为东北部文化比较古朴而西部就完全嬉皮，在叫爸爸这一方面就可见一斑！

★ 哈佛更爱阴暗文

相比较斯坦福，哈佛更爱一些负面的词汇。像诸如“cancer（癌症），difficult（困难），hard（艰难）和tough（艰苦）”就更投Harvard的喜好。

然而，一些阳光的词汇，诸如“happy（开心），passion（激情），better（更好）和improve（提升）”就更让Stanford喜欢。

当然不仅仅是词汇，文章内容也是有关系的。哈佛录取学生的文书更多是关于克服人生或者学术生涯困难的，而斯坦福的文书更多是个人创新类的故事，家庭背景或者学生所关注的事件及问题。

从数据对比来看，哈佛更喜欢学生去列举自己的光辉事迹，比如，哈佛录取学生的文章里最常出现的词是“experience（经验），society（社会），world（世界），success（成功），opportunity（机会）”。而斯坦福更关注学生个人，诸如“research（研究），community（社区），knowledge（知识），future（未来），skill（技能）”等词频频出现。

★ 其他常青藤学校录取偏好

其他常青藤学校就更欢乐了。Brown更喜欢志愿者或者有趣的社会活动，然而同样的文书对于Yale来说就不怎么受欢迎。Princeton是除了哈佛之外另一所喜欢学生写自己克服困难的故事的学校。Cornell和Upenn更喜欢学生写自己对未来的打算和憧憬。如果你的文章是关于种族，民族和性取向的话，那么就会更受斯坦佛，康奈尔和布朗的喜爱。

每个学校喜欢的文书肯定不一样，所以一定要根据学校的录取口味写文书。毕竟每一个学校的特点还是很鲜明的，现在从数据的角度来看，印证了每个学校的招生官存在可以捉摸的偏好这一事实。

 ★ 怎样写好一篇吸引招生官的文书？

一篇吸引招生官的文书应该是关于自己不可思议的经历或者人格特质的。然而写这样的文章的确存在一定风险。可是总的来说，一般愿意这么铤而走险的学生录得都会很好。

此外，一些奇形怪状的文体也会增加录取几率。比如一个人写自己的信用卡被盗之后，用他信用卡的那个人的每一笔开销以及做了什么，还有一个人列了一个书单以及每本书的购买地点。诸如此类的标新立异的文章一般都会获得招生官的青睐。

不过如果你要铤而走险的话，首先请确定你的文章写得够好。什么叫写得好呢？就是对用词，节奏以及写作风格足够好，从这点上来说，对于绝大多数非母语国家的申请者来说，还是有一定的难度的。

所以，如果你想去Harvard又想写自己父母的话，请记得，一定要用mother和father，另外一定要多出现difficult，hard，tough之类的词，一定要将故事写得忧伤却又不忘表扬自己。
